Trading range

The difference between the high and low prices traded during a period of time; with commodities, the high/low price limit established by the exchange for a specific commodity for any one day's trading. The New York Times Financial Glossary

   The high and low trading points of an instrument over a period of time. Often referred to as the hi/lo. Chartists watch to see if the price of a financial instrument breaks through its trading high or low since this can be a portent for its future trend.
